zoo med environmental control
I was a bit apprehensive about this because I couldn't find any reviews but I decided to try it out anyway. So far it's been perfect! I'm using it in a tropical paludarium and it's running everything flawlessly. It takes care of the 36" jungle dawn led grow light, jungle dawn T5 UVB, deep heat projector and an inline water heater for the external cannister filter. There's still room to something else, I may yet add a moon type night light. It's maintaining the temperature gradient I needed, the two temperature and humidity sensors have shown to be very accurate. I'm using two zoo med thermometer humidity gauges as well as an expensive portable unit to verify. I'm still using a couple inkbird thermostats as backup incase the inline water heater (takes care of base temp) or the deep heat projector circuits fail in some way. Perhaps a bit overboard but I already had them and I like everything to have a backup. The setup is very easy and I love having all the information in one place. It's also made for a very tidy setup. The mist king with the seconds timer runs independently from everything else, it's the only thing that can't easily integrated. An ultrasonic fogger unit would be ideal to use with this control center, you would just need to set your desired humidity level and the unit would switch the fogger on as needed to maintain it. I would still add something like an inkbird humidity controller to the circuit so you have backup in case the humidity sensor or circuit in the control center failed. You wouldn't want the fogger stuck on until it drained it's water tank, it could be very dangerous for your pet. While backup temperature control units may not be needed for every setup the humidity control really should have one. This has nothing to do with the quality of the product, just good practice overall I think. I still have extra timer plugs available, my only gripe with the unit is plug 5 and 6 are tied together. You can use one plug to run daytime stuff and the other to run night time stuff. You can't run them both at the same time which I found very strange. This is by far the most advanced control center available in our hobby, unfortunately that's not saying much. Just about everything needs to catch up with the times. Overall I'm very happy with this and would recommend it to anyone. It's a great all in one solution. Hopefully it catches on and other manufacturer technology to run our enclosures. Wifi monitoring should have been included in design. Recieving alerts via an app if something was to go wrong would have made this a 5 star unit. It's not a difficult thing to do these days and not having it makes the unit feel kind of dated already. Give it a try!
