The Arcadia Euro Range of D3+ T8 Desert Lamps are a long life UVB lamp providing balanced levels of UVB and UVA over a 9 month period which is 3 months longer that other competitors. The D3+ T8 Desert Lamp is designed for reptiles, who in the wild would bask in open plains exposed to high levels of UVB from the sun. This includes reptiles such as bearded dragons, uromastyx, savannah monitors etc.
The Euro Desert D3+ UVB Lamp has 10% of UVB and 30% UVA with excellent colour emission's resulting in much more natural coloured reptiles. We always advise that all T8 bulbs should be used with T8 reflectors to ensure 100% off the UVB and UVA is emitted into the vivarium directly where your reptile needs it.
Reptiles require UV light to ensure they can synthesise Vitamin D3 which allows your reptile to absorb calcium to aid in healthy bone development and prevent problems such as metabolic bone disease which has a major impact on your reptile life.
Please note this lamp is designed for desert dwelling reptiles who require a high percentage of UVB and UVA and is not suitable for reptiles who in the wild would naturally be under a high amount of tree cover such as chameleons, they require the D3 5% Forest UVB Lamp.
